In recent months, the city has implemented several programs designed to increase the availability of affordable housing amid soaring property prices. According to the San Antonio Housing Authority, the median home price in the city has surged to $350,000, a rise of 10% since last year.
To counteract these trends, city officials have introduced a series of zoning changes aimed at easing the development of affordable housing units.
