The Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) metropolitan area has experienced a remarkable surge in luxury home sales, with transactions for properties priced over $1 million increasing by 22% in the first half of 2026.
According to the latest data from the Texas Real Estate Commission, this upswing can be attributed to a robust job market and the region's continued appeal to both local and out-of-state buyers. Notably, high-profile companies such as Toyota and Goldman Sachs have expanded their operations in the area, drawing in a demographic eager for upscale living.
“Dallas is becoming a top choice for affluent buyers looking for more than just a home—it’s about lifestyle and opportunity,” stated Mark Johnson, CEO of Luxury Realty Group. “The confidence in the economy is palpable, and buyers are willing to invest significantly in this market.”
In the first six months of 2026, DFW reported over 1,200 luxury home sales, with the average sale price climbing to $1.2 million. This not only represents a significant increase from the same period last year but also showcases a shift in buyer priorities. With many opting for spacious homes that offer amenities tailored to remote work and family living, the demand for properties with home offices and outdoor spaces has never been higher.
In particular, neighborhoods such as Preston Hollow and the Park Cities have seen bidding wars that drove prices up by as much as 15% year-over-year. Local real estate agents report that many homes are selling within just days of hitting the market, often above asking price.
Moreover, the luxury segment is not just limited to single-family homes. High-end condominiums in urban centers like Uptown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth are also attracting buyers, with new developments offering amenities like rooftop pools and concierge services.
As the DFW area continues to thrive, real estate analysts predict that this trend will persist. The area's strong economic fundamentals, combined with a growing population, are likely to sustain the momentum in luxury home sales well into 2027.
