In a significant boost for the artificial intelligence sector in Texas, NexGen Technologies, a Dallas-based startup, has announced it has secured $100 million in a Series C funding round led by Venture Partners and several prominent angel investors.

Founded in 2020, NexGen Technologies specializes in developing AI solutions tailored for small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and customer engagement. The new funding will primarily be allocated towards expanding its engineering team and accelerating product development.

“This funding allows us to scale our operations and bring our cutting-edge solutions to a wider audience,” said Lisa Tran, CEO of NexGen Technologies. “We believe that AI is the future of business efficiency, and we are committed to helping SMEs harness its power.”

The announcement comes at a time when Texas is rapidly emerging as a hub for technology investment. In the first half of 2026, the state witnessed a record influx of venture capital, totaling over $4 billion across various sectors, with a notable emphasis on AI and machine learning.

NexGen's platform, which integrates various AI tools to assist businesses with data analysis, customer service automation, and predictive analytics, is already in use by over 500 companies across the United States. With the new capital, the firm aims to enhance its machine learning algorithms and expand its market reach into Europe.

As Texas continues to attract tech talent and investment, industry experts anticipate that companies like NexGen will play a crucial role in the state’s economic growth. “The innovative spirit in Texas is palpable, and it’s fostering an environment ripe for startups,” noted Dr. Kevin Reyes, a technology analyst based in Austin.

The funding round was completed just weeks after Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a new initiative aimed at promoting tech innovation in the state, which includes tax incentives for startups and increased funding for tech education programs.
